Note: This study is currently on hold. Please email email@example.com or call 992-2223 with questions or if you are interested in study opportunities.
The weekly Bible/topical study is open to men, women and youth (visitors welcome!). Each “session” runs for approximately 6 weeks, and generally alternates between Bible and topical studies. We meet every Thursday, from 7-8:30pm, but will break for summer (our last study before summer 2015 will be on June 11). Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested and would like further details and location. Even if you did not attend the first week of a series, you are more than welcome to join in at any point.
--"It Starts at Home" (A video-based study on godly parenting. This is also relevant to all within the church regardless of marital status or life stage, as we each have the privilege of walking alongside those who are younger, whether or not they are biologically related.)
-- How does Our Christian Identity Affect Our Everyday Work? (Going through Tim Keller's book, "Every Good Endeavor")
-- Learning to Pray from the Psalms (The Psalms teach us how to pray honestly and with faith, expressing everything from praise and gratitude to anger and grief.)
--1 John (1 John addresses topics such as lifestyle confession, recognizing false teaching, love, hypocrisy, and assurance of salvation.)
--"Tough Questions" (From a Scriptural worldview, we addressed challenging topics such as the violence in the Bible, the "problem of evil", end-of-life issues etc.)
--Devotional Classics (Editors Richard Foster and James Bryan Smith; addressing habits that God uses to grow us in our walk with Him)
--Ecclesiastes (Ecclesiastes gives a glimpse of what the world and our lives are/would be like apart from God--unveiling the empty promises of money, fame, work, and pleasure if we seek them apart from God)
--"Fighting Well": Christian Conflict (Using Peacemaker Ministries' "Resolving Everyday Conflict" curriculum, we studied a biblical approach to conflict and peacemaking)
