Local Missions


First Step is a Pregnancy Resource Center located in Bangor. They provide pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, support groups, parenting classes, and STD clinics. 


Manna Ministries located in Bangor serves homeless individuals and families, the working poor, those on a fixed income, or anyone who simply needs a place to sit and “break bread” through an evening meal, food pantry, and food drives. Local Connections Serving the Lord Globally


Anchor New England is based out of Farmington, ME . Their mission is to “create premium Christian worldview content and curriculum for the purpose of equipping, encouraging, and strengthening believers all over the world, in order that the gospel would be proclaimed, and the kingdom of God advanced.”


Eagle Projects International is an international Christian ministry based out of Sangerville, Maine that ministers alongside strategic indigenous partners in countries throughout the world.  They take part in doing field evangelism, church planting, medical clincs, and theological training in unreached areas.


Rose Thayer serving with The Navigators.  The Navigators is a ministry that shares the gospel of Jesus and helps people grow in their relationship with Him through discipleship, creating spiritual generations of believers. Since its founding in 1933, The Navigators has upheld the mission “To know Christ, make Him known, and help others do the same.  Rose Thayer attended New Hope Church during her time at UMaine.  Since graduating, she has been serving with The Navigators at the University of Glasgow in Scotland.  


Global Missions


Compassion International is one of our global missions. A “child-development ministry dedicated to releasing children from poverty in Jesus’ name. Through sponsorships and donations, we empower local churches to provide individualized and holistic care to children in poverty so they are free to learn, grow, play and dream.” New Hope Church currently supports a girl named Katherine from Nicaragua. Katherine will be 9 years old in May. She enjoys learning about God, Art & Drawing, Dolls, and Running. If you’d like to send a letter or card to Katherine, please email info@newhopebgr.org.  


Joyful Hearts Christian Ministry - founded by Milly Nakato is a part of Urban Promise International Their Mission is "to create a safe bright and God fearing future for children by using affordable quality Early Childhood Development programs to build resilience in their families and community." They have a school, after school/summer program, and parenting classes. Find them on Facebook


Operation Christmas ChildThe mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world. Through this project, Samaritan’s Purse partners with the local church worldwide to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and make disciples of the nations.


STEP International: Their vision is "to transform the lives of destitute people and downtrodden communities through gospel-oriented, multi-faceted sustainable development programs in South Asia" by resource sharing, teacher training, and child sponsorship.
