We invite you to join us as we gather for worship every Sunday at 10am at Penobscot Christian School (1423 Ohio Street, Bangor, ME 04401). Whether you've grown up in a similar church, are used to a different style of worship, or this is your first time to church and you’re still figuring out what you believe, we hope this introduction will help lessen any anxiety that comes from visiting for the first time. God meets us right where we’re at, and calls us on a journey as we receive the life He created us to enjoy.
First, come as you are. The church is not made up of people who have it all together; it's made up of those who trust in the forgiveness and love of God in Jesus Christ. And even if you aren’t yet sure what you believe, we invite you to join us as you explore. Our goal is to meet with God, trusting that He has forgiven and will continue to transform us.
There is no particular dress code; on any given Sunday you will see people dressed in jeans or slacks, button-down shirts and jackets to T-shirts and polos. The best general description is probably "nice casual"--but you are welcome to come as you are comfortable.
When you arrive, there is plenty of parking in the school parking lot; park wherever you would like. The double doors farther away from the road lead into the school gym where we meet, and there will be someone to greet you as you enter. Please feel free to take any seat, or ask the greeter any questions.
On the 1st and 3rd Sunday each month we celebrate The Lord's Supper together. We invite all who are truly sorry for their sins, sincerely believe in the Lord Jesus as their Savior, earnestly desire to live a godly life, and have been baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit to partake.
Following the service on the 3rd Sunday of the month, we have a fellowship potluck. All are invited to stay regardless of whether you brought a dish. We look forward to breaking bread with you!
